Kathleen Hanna and Ad-Rock Cover DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You”

Kathleen Hanna and her husband Ad-Rock have covered DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You” for Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE Out. The benefit compilation, set for release digitally and on CD and vinyl on October 2 via SoundsGood, has also corralled Jello Biafra, Fred Armisen, Fishbone, and Ozomatli, among others. The Hanna and Ad-Rock song features Money Mark, longtime touring Beastie Boy Fredo Ortiz, and former Kinison bass player Frank Figueroa; listen to it below.

Hanna said in a statement, “It’s not often you get to play music with your favorite people while working with a grassroots organization like Contra-ICE. They are passionately fighting against fascism and white supremacy, which is something none of us can afford to ignore. Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys) produced our song which was a dream come true for me. Thank you so much to Contra-ICE for making this happen and allowing me to represent what we collectively stand for.”

The compilation was organized by Build Art Make Change, a nonprofit organization that works to empower vulnerable communities, shift public discourse, and drive policy reform. Proceeds will directly fund National Day Laborer Organizing Network and Unión del Barrio, according to a press release. BAMC’s founder, Dali Colorado, said the album “is a cultural infrastructure built to support frontline organizations, amplify immigrant voices, and mobilize creatives who believe that love is not passive; it’s organized.”

Colorado, who is also a DJ, added, “I approached this project as a curator, carefully crafting a listening experience that unfolds as a journey. Every track, transition, and voice serves a purpose, inviting listeners to move through moments of grief, anger, resilience, hope, and ultimately, action…. It tells a story, weaving together music, comedy, and spoken word from a diverse community of artists responding to the inhumane treatment perpetuated by today's fascist ICE state.”
